WebMay 9, 2014 · The author reviewed cultural competence models and cultural competence assessment instruments developed and published by nurse researchers since 1982. Both models and instruments were examined in terms of their components, theoretical backgrounds, empirical validation, and psychometric evaluation. WebResults: Four metathemes: community, cultural identity, holistic approach, and interdependence were identified as the main results. Further, a model for mental health and healing was created by the overlapping nature of these meta themes in practice. Conclusions: A health promoting counselling model
